stick figure bubble

"Bubbles"

Imaginary bubbles are helpful to teach personal space. They can be used for students standing still in a scattered formation, or when students move around the room in random formation quietly (and safely).

How it works:

  • Tell the students that everyone will have an imaginary bubble around their bodies to help them move quietly while listening.
  • To begin, have students “turn on” their bubbles by snapping above our heads.
  • When the music starts, students may move around the room wherever they want, but they may not talk or touch anyone or anything.
  • If someone talks or touches, the bubble pops, and the student must freeze in place (or, if you prefer, go sit down). You can choose to turn a student’s bubble back on by approaching the child and snapping in the air over their head.
