Lyrics

(American folk song)

Come neighbors the moon is up,
It’s pleasant out here on the bank.
Come stick your heads out of the tank
And let us before we sup
Go kough, kough, kough
And let us before we sup
Go kough, kough, kough.

Hush yonder’s the waddling duck,
He’s coming, I don’t mean to stay.
We’d better by half hop our way,
If we don’t he will gobble us up,
With a kough, kough, kough.
If we don’t he will gobble us up,
With a kough, kough, kough.

Game

One student is the “Duck (“It”), and the rest of the students are the frogs. After singing both verses, the Duck starts to chase after the frogs, who all retreat to a safe area. The student the Duck is able to tag becomes the next Duck. Option: the duck must waddle, and the frogs must jump (which avoids running).
