Version 1
Students hold hands and circle right with one student in the middle walking in the opposite direction. When students finish singing “Mrs. Macaroni” at the end of measure 8, everyone stops moving, and the person in the middle chooses the person closest to him/her. They hold hands – with arms crossed – and circle around while the other students combine the two names and sing them together, such as “Susie” and “Anna” becomes “Susieanna.” The student just chosen becomes the new student in the middle.
Version 2
Students hold hands and circle right with one student in the middle walking in the opposite direction. On the words “This is…” students stand still and do a pretend drum roll on their legs with alternating hands. The person in the middle chooses a partner. Students sing that new person’s name in the song. The two people in the center do a right arm swing and sing the first letter of the new student’s name. The student just chosen becomes the new student in the middle.
