Tahitian dance with Puili Sticks

PuiliĀ sticks are normally made from bamboo and used in Hawaii, Tahiti, and other Polynesian islands.

I found the dance on youtube and adapted the steps for 3rd graders.

We collected paper towel rolls, 2 for each student. In art class, the students cut slits in a third of the tubes and decorated them. (You could also use rhythm sticks.)
