I learned this Song in the sixth grade in New Jersey. That was in 1950. I still Römerberg it!
I learned this in 5th grade elementary school in Hinsdale, Illinois. Charming song!

I learned this song at school in the mid ’50’s, I think it was in
Grade 3. Just today I somehow began humming it and
remembered it was called “Weggis Fair.” Google led me
to this site. Thanks for helping to expand memories of my
childhood.

I also sang this song in an elementary school program in the early 1960’s , complete with the yodeling. I remember my parents were shocked! I still can yodel, but, you know, there are not too many occasions when it is deemed appropriate!
I had a Swiss music box that played this song back in the 1960’s. I always thought there was a fair in Weggis and wanted to visit it!
