Drop Peter Drop

Lyrics

(Folk song from Tobago)

I lost my glove on a Saturday night
And I found it Sunday mornin’,
I lost my glove on a Saturday night
And I found it Sunday mornin’,
Drop Peter drop boy
Peter wouldn’t drop, boy
Drop drop drop

Game

Formation: Students sit in a circle. One student is “It” and stands outside of the circle holding a glove (or other object).

“It” walks around the outside of the circle while students sing. On the last word, “It” drops the glove behind the closest student (Student 2). The second student stands up and runs around the circle trying to catch “It.” If Student 2 catches “It,” Student becomes the new “It” and the original “It” sits in the middle until someone else becomes “It.” If “It” reaches the empty space before being caught, “It” sits in that space, and Student 2 becomes “It.” (source)
