Lyrics
(Folk song)
Ob bistrem potoku je mlin, cin, cin,
a jaz sem pa mlinarjev sin, cin, cin.
Ko mlinček ropoče in voda šumlja,
srce mi veselo igra, igra.
Ko mlinček ropoče in voda šumlja,
srce mi veselo igra.
Le teci mi voda lepo,
na veliko mlinsko kolo.
Ko kamen vrti se in žito drobi,
že moka se v skrinjo praši, praši.
Ko kamen vrti se in žito drobi,
že moka se v skrinjo praši.
Če mlinček pri miru bi stal,
bi mlinar in kmet žaloval
in otrok bi jokal in tožil glasno,
kako je brez kruha hudo, hudo.
in otrok bi jokal in tožil glasno,
kako je brez kruha hudo
English Translation - There is a mill by the clear stream
There is a mill by the clear stream, tin, tin,
and I am the miller’s son, tin, tin.
When the millstone roars and the water murmurs,
my heart plays happily, plays.
When the millstone roars and the water murmurs,
my heart plays happily.
Let the water flow smoothly,
on the great mill wheel.
When the stone turns and crushes the grain,
the flour is already dusting, dusting into the chest.
When the stone turns and crushes the grain,
the flour is already dusting into the chest.
If the millstone stood still,
the miller and the farmer would mourn
and the child would cry and lament loudly,
how bad it is without bread, how bad.
and the child would cry and lament loudly,
how bad it is without bread
