Lyrics
(Folk song)
1. I had a little nut tree, nothing would it bear
But a silver nutmeg and a golden pear.
The King of Spain’s daughter came to visit me,
And all for the sake of my little nut tree.
2. Her dress was all of crimson, coal black was her hair;
She asked me for my nut tree and my golden pear.
I said, “So fair a princess never did I see.
I’ll give to you the fruit of my little nut tree.”

As a Kodaly teacher, I’d love to know the origin/source of the songs.
Yes, I agree that it’s helpful. If I know what the source of a song is, I write it in the “See also” section. For many of these songs, since they have been passed down from generation to generation, it’s difficult to know the original sources.
