Lyrics
(Traditional chant from Liberia)
Train, train, drop it,
Train, train, drop it,
Train, train, drop it,
I wrote a letter to my daddy,
On the way he dropped it,
A little boy picked it up,
And put it in his pocket,
Train, train, drop it,
Train, train, drop it,
Train, train, drop it.
Game
Formation – Students kneel on the floor in a circle. One student is “It” and stands outside of the circle holding an object, such as a handkerchief.
Students chant and clap on the beat while “It” walks around outside the circle. At the end, “It” drops the handkerchief and begins to walk quickly (or run) around the circle. The student who is sitting in front of the dropped handkerchief grabs the handkerchief and runs after “It,” trying to tag “It” before “It” reaches the open spot in the circle. (source)
