Lyrics
Al pavo pavito pavo
Al pavo pavito sí,
El pavito se ha marchado
¡Y el pavito ya está aquí! ¡Una!
Al pavo pavito pavo
Al pavo pavito sí,
El pavito se ha marchado
¡Y el pavito ya está aquí! ¡Dos!
Al pavo pavito pavo
Al pavo pavito sí,
El pavito se ha marchado
¡Y el pavito ya está aquí! ¡Tres!
¡Pavo! ¡Pavo! ¡Pavo!
Translation
To the turkey, little turkey, turkey
To the turkey, little turkey, yes,
The little turkey has gone away
And the little turkey now is here!
Game
With an odd number of children, students hold hands and make a circle. They sing the song three times, saying the number of times they have sung it after each verse. At the end, each student finds a partner, leaving one person with no partner. Everyone says “pavo!” three times to that person, who is “out.” That person can choose another student to take out with him/her, leaving an odd number of children to repeat the game.

What do you have the “out” students do?
Hi Amanda! Good question! You could have those kids sit to the side and sing and pat (or play drums on) the beat. Or you could have them work independently, such as begin a worksheet or work or read books.
