The Open Fire

1. When the wind blows cold and damp,
When the sea fogs prowl about,
Mama lights the parlor lamp
And she shuts the darkness out.

2. Papa lays driftwood sticks
Underneath the walnut logs:
Pretty soon the red flame licks
