- Richard Strauss conducted the premiere of Hansel and Gretel, which was an immediate success
- In 1923, Hansel and Gretel became the first opera to ever be broadcast on radio
- “Engelbert Humperdinck” is also the stage name of Gerry Dorsey. a British pop star (1936 – 1967).
