Lyrics
(Folk song from the Bahamas)
1. Oh the wind blow east,
The wind blow west,
The wind blow the Sunshine right down in town.
The wind blow the Sunshine right down in town.
The wind blow the Sunshine right down in town.
2. Oh the wind blow east,
The wind blow west,
The wind blow the Setting Star right down in town.
The wind blow the Setting Star right down in town.
The wind blow the Setting Star right down in town.
3. Oh the wind blow east,
The wind blow west,
The wind blow the China right down in town.
The wind blow the China right down in town.
The wind blow the China right down in town.
Sunshine, Setting Star and China are ships that were blown ashore during a hurricane. (source)

Hello:
I don’t recall ever hearing this song, “The Wind Blow East” before. Is this song associated with a particular Island of the Bahamas?
My source names the origin as Nassau.
I am from the Midwest and I remember singing this song in grade school.
