Version 1

Lyrics
(Melody by Mrs. John Gunn, Traditional nursery rhyme)
Little Robin Redbreast sat upon a tree,
Up went pussycat and down went he,
Down came pussycat, away Robin ran,
Saying, “Now pussycat, catch me if you can.”
Little Robin Redbreast hopped upon a wall,
Pussycat jumped after him, and got a fall.
There lay pussycat while Robin flew away,
Saying, “Poor pussycat, try some other day.”
Version 2

Lyrics
(Traditional Melody collected by A. Wier, 1918, Traditional nursery rhyme)
Little Robin Redbreast sat upon a tree,
Up went pussycat and down went he,
Down came pussycat, away Robin ran,
Saying, “Now pussycat, catch me if you can.”
Little Robin Redbreast jumped upon a wall,
Pussycat jumped after him and almost got a fall.
Little Robin chirped and sang, and what did Pussy say?
Pussycat said, Mew, and Robin flew away!
