Happiness Song

This song was sung by the women to sustain the moral and hope of the men during the confinement of the Navajo at Fort Sumner following their capitulation to Kit Carson in 1864.

Shiyiyi na sha
shiyiyi na sha
shiyiyi na sha
ake hozhon la he ya he ne ya
ha la ha la go no sha

Where I am,
Where I am,
Where I am,
There is happiness.
The land of happiness,
Where I am.
