I’m from Ohio, but learned it as a young Girl Scout. We also learned the lines as-when riding the ranges my luck never changes

I sang this song with my grade school fellow students with Wisconsin Muisic on the air in the 1940’s. I’ve never forgot the lyrics.

Scot, I was in the 5th grade in 1962 and we also sang this song at Northern Pike Elementary in Monroeville, PA, just outside of Pittsburgh. Our version had a chorus, “Yipee Ti Yi A, Git along little dogies, it’s your misfortune and none of my own. Yipee Ti Yi A, Git along little dogies, for you know that Wyoming will soon be your home.” Behind our school was a little gray pony in a field, Thunder. So the song had special meaning to some of us, the fans of Thunder.
