Lyrics
(Melody by Camille Saint-Saëns, Danse Macabre, Lyrics by Paul Leroux, publ. 1924)
On snowy nights when winds come forth
From icy regions far up north,
I fancy then that ghosts of flowers
Are dancing through the wintry bowers.
I like to think each flake that blows
Was once a petal on a rose
Or apple blossom, whiter now,
That comes once more to greet the bough.
