Lyrics
(Evan Stephens, 1899)
1. Wake a song of joy and gladness,
Let the room with music ring,
Hence will fly all dreary sadness,
When with heart and voice we sing.
Music stirs the thought to action,
Still it soothes the weary mind,
Let us sing with satisfaction,
Leaving all our cares behind.
2. Sing with voices sweetly blending,
Sing of pleasure, sing of love,
Sing the joy we feel in singing
Songs we treasure aught above.
Sing the love we bear each other.
Schoolmates, teachers, friends so true,
Join the chorus, sister, brother,
And our pleasure thus renew.
