Lyrics
(Melody by Robert Z. Graham, 1921, Lyrics by Ralph Waldo Emerson, 3rd Stanza by Stephen Fay)
1. For flowers that bloom about our feet,
For tender grass so fresh and sweet,
For song of bird and hum of bee,
For all things fair we hear or see,
Father in heaven, we thank Thee.
2. For blue of stream and blue of sky,
For pleasant shade of branches high,
For fragrant air and cooling breeze,
For beauty of the blooming trees,
Father in heaven, we thank Thee.
3. For autumn fruits in plenty stored,
for shelter warm and ample board,
For winter’s cold but lively cheer
That brings to us another year,
Father in heaven, we thank Thee.
