Green Grow the Lilacs

1. Green grow the lilacs all sparking with dew.
I’m lonely my darling since parting with you;
But you our next meeting I hope to prove true,
And change three green lilacs to the red white and blue.

2. On top of the mountain where green lilacs grow
And down in the valley where bright waters flow,
We’ll meet there together our love to renew,
