Lyrics
(Folk song)
Part 1
Swinging along the open road,
under a sky that’s clear.
Swinging along the open road,
in the fall of the year.
Swinging along, swinging along,
Swinging along the open road,
All in the Fall of the year.
Part 2
Swinging along the open road,
Swinging along a sky that’s clear.
Swinging along the open road,
All in the Fall, in the Fall of the year.
Swinging along, swinging along the open road,
All in the Fall of the year.

Hi Beth, I am looking for a song that begins with the words, “Give me a day in the fall of the year…” it then flows right into the familiar, “Swinging along the open road…” One source told me it is from a 1944 movie titled, “Song of the Open Road” but my searches for that song have come to a dead end. Thank you very much for any info. you can give me!
I’m not familiar with this song, but maybe someone else is!
