Lyrics
(Folk song)
My daddy is an engineer,
My brother drives a hack,
My sister takes in washin’
And the baby balls the jack,
And it looks like
I’m never gonna cease my wanderin’.
I been a wanderin’
Early and late,
New York City
To the Golden Gate,
And it looks like
I’m never gonna cease my wanderin’
Been a-workin’ in the army
Workin’ on a farm,
All I got to show for it
Is the muscle in my arm
And it looks like
I’m never gonna cease my wanderin’
Snakes in the ocean
Fish in the sea,
Took a red-headed woman
To make a fool outa me,
And it looks like
I’m never gonna cease my wanderin’

1 thought on “Wanderin’”
When I was a child, “Swing and Sway with Sammy Kaye” had a version of this for the theme song of the radio show. This is as close as I have found. My buddy and I will perform this at a church coffee house when it reconvenes after COVID-19. THANK YOU!
