Lyrics – Transliteration

(Hebrew folk song)

Al hanissim, v’al hapurkan,
v’al hag’vurot v’al hat’tshuot
v’al hamil chamot sh’asita lavoteinu
bayamim hahem baz’man hazeh.

English Translation – On the miracles

We thank You God for the miracles, the redemption,
the mighty acts, the saving acts
and for the wonders (wars) that You have done for our fathers,
in those days at this time.

Hebrew – עַל הַנִסִּים

וְעַל הַנִסִּים, וְעַל הַפֻּרְקָן,
וְעַל הַגְבוּרוֹת, וְעַל הַתְּשׁוּעוֹת,
וְעַל הַנִפְלָאוֹת, שֶׁעָשִׂיתָ לַאֲבוֹתֵינוּ
בַּיָמִים הָהֵם בִּזְמַן הַזֶה.

  1. the transliteration words are incorrect. It is not: v’al hamil chamot. The correct words are al ha niflaot, which means wonders. milchamot means wars. That is the wrong word in this sentence
