Stand still, stamp three times,
Stand still, clap your hands,
Right hand shake, left hand shake, stamp stamp turn.
Four slides right and four slides left,
And face out, slide right, and face in, slide left,
Then take a new partner, look out for the rover,
Be happy and snappy and start it all over.
Circle Game
Formation: Students stand in a single circle with partners facing each other. If there is an extra person with no partner, that person is the Rover and stands outside the circle.
- Ms. 1-4 = Do motions of lyrics
- Ms. 5 = Partners shake right hands (pulse 3 times)
- Ms. 6 = Partners shake left hands (pulse 3 times)
- Ms. 7-8 = Stamp twice, all students face outward (with backs to the center) and hold hands.
- Ms. 9-10 = Slide 4 steps to the right
- Ms. 11-12 = Slide 4 steps to the left
- Ms. 13-14 = Students face the center of the circle, one slide to the right
- Ms. 15-16 = Students face the outward again, one slide to the left
- Ms. 17-24 = Students wander around to find new partners, and if there is a Rover, that person finds a partner until there is one person with no partner, who becomes the new Rover.
