This song is from Southern Botswana from the Bakgalagadi cultural group from the town of Letlhakeng. The Boers (now called Afrikaners) created apartheid in South Africa, which borders on Botswana. Some people from Botswana worked in mines in South Africa, and some South Africans escaped to Botswana.
