Don’t Laugh at Me

Have you heard this song? The song was written and recorded by country singer, Mark Wills. I once saw Peter Yarrow (of Peter, Paul and Mary) sing it and talk about his ant-bullying program during a back-to-school teacher institute day. The program is called Operation Respect, and you can order a free Don’t Laugh at Me (DLAM) packet here. On their website it says:

Operation Respect/ESR also grants educators permission to reproduce the written DLAM materials, the copywritten CD and video, free of charge.

I taught the song to my students, and we would sing it together at the monthly Character Counts assemblies. For the PowerPoint, I scanned the book illustrations.
