  • Pattern cards on the board – NEW NOTE review – barlines, double barline, time sig, repeat sign
  • Are You Sleeping – Review song. Two circles on floor, sing in a ROUND.
    • xyl – DA on half notes for Are you Sleeping
  • Ally Bally: (See PowerPoint) find half notes.
    • Partners: pat 2, clap 2, high five 2, “rainbow” on half note.

Lesson 14

  • Character Counts
  • Pattern cards on board
  • Ally Bally:
    • Partners again.
  • Sunset – from the Silver Burdett & Ginn 2nd grade book. If you don’t have the book, substitute a song like Wake Me. (More songs with half notes.)
  • Grizzly Bear – papers

Lesson 15

  • Review notes & rests with cards on the board
  • Sunset or Wake Me – find half notes & half rests
    • papers again, raise hand on half notes, whisper “rest” on rests
  • A Tisket A Tasket
  • Grizzly Bear – look at paper again, teach game

Lesson 16

  • Review notes & rests with same cards on the board
  • A Tisket A Tasket
  • Grizzly Bear – look at paper again, teach game

Lesson 19

    • Listen again, add motions.
  • Start puppet DVD.

Lesson 20

  • Review Peer Gynt and In the Hall of the Mountain King.
  • Listen to a little of Morning, Ase’s Death, and Anitra’s Dance – what do you feel?
    • If time, students could “free draw” to the music and share their art with others
  • Finish DVD
